HG Bishop Jeremiah devote an annual award in honor of late Dr. Makram Mehanna

 

HG Bishop Ermia, General Bishop and Head of The Coptic Orthodox Cultural Center, announced on the departure of Dr. Makram Mehanna anniversary an annual award bearing his name and to be granted on December 23 annually to outstanding people, under the name of Dr. Makram Mehanna Innovation Award.

HG Bishop Ermia said: “I was one of the students and the children of the late Dr. Makram Mehanna, I know him from 39 years when we went to Faculty of Pharmacy preparatory, and if I have any good thing I owe it to this man.”

HG Bishop Ermia added, at his speech at “Egyptian Story” festivity which was organized by the Youth Bishopric at the Coptic Orthodox Cultural Center on the occasion of 40 days of the late Dr. Makram Mehanna, that when I was called up for service with the late Pope Shenouda III and began working in the Cultural Center, the work faced huge problems that only God knows and Dr. Makram Mehanna worked in complete secrecy and denial reinforcing everyone to complete the project and he was chosen by the late Pope Shenouda III to be one of the center board of Trustees members, “adding that ” Mehanna” is credited with shareholders for the construction of the cultural center.

It is noteworthy that the ceremony was attended by a number of public figures, including Dr. Emad Gad, a member of the House of Representatives, and Mounir Fakhri Abdel-Nour, former Minister of Industry and Trade.
