HH Pope Tawadros II delivered a lecture, at the Fourth Conference of media coordinators which began yesterday morning as he\u00a0explained the image of the\u00a0Church that is capable to\u00a0perform its mission effectively, in the current era and in the future.<\/span>
\nHis Holiness outlined\u00a0five features of the church ..<\/span>
\n1. Church and the definition:<\/span>
\nThe church is a spiritual, a\u00a0serving\u00a0and a\u00a0national\u00a0foundation<\/span>
\n(A)\u00a0Spiritual: because the church\u00a0is preoccupied with the salvation of human\u00a0and his repentance<\/span>
\n(B) Serving: because the church is preoccupied with the needs of human\u00a0(all church activities).<\/span>
\n(C) National: because the church is preoccupied with defending\u00a0the nation and our Christ visited Egypt and blessed it<\/span>
\n2. Church and time:<\/span>
\n(A) Church in the past: we say it is a historic church that has roots which are Creed, heritage, traditions and rituals and it is one of the world oldest churches\u00a0<\/span>
\n(B) Church in the present: we say about it that it is a Church present with care, education and community service<\/span>
\n(C) Church in the future: it has a vision as\u00a0it expended, we have churches in every\u00a0continents of the world, our church\u00a0remained inside Egypt until the fifties and the migration of Copts began after July revolution.\u00a0In 1961 Copts\u00a0migration\u00a0to Kuwait began and than in\u00a01964 to Canada and in 1968 to Australia and then in 1969 to US\u00a0and in\u00a01971 to England and than the church spreaded in many countries and Currently we nearly have 400 churches and monasteries and more than thirty bishops outside Egypt.<\/span>
\n3. Church and the Church corners:<\/span>
\nA. Icon (family): The family is the church icon.<\/span>
\nB Jewel (monasticism): Monasticism\u00a0is the jewel of the Church and we must preserve the value of\u00a0this jewel.<\/span>
\n(C) Lighthouse\u00a0(educational institution):Theological Education\u00a0is the lighthouse of the\u00a0Church,\u00a0St. John Chrysostom\u00a0said “This is the cause of all evils, the not knowing the Scriptures”.<\/span>
\n4. The role of the Church: the Church is:<\/span>
\n(A) Salt: it is what\u00a0gives the sweet taste to\u00a0the world as\u00a0we say if\u00a0we stood in your\u00a0holy temple reckon\u00a0as\u00a0standing\u00a0in the sky, the Church is characterized by beauty and order.<\/span>
\n(B) Light: It means the integrity of behavior because what distinguishes the light ray is \u00a0that it is a\u00a0straight line.<\/span>
\n(C) Yeast: It means it \u00a0work in the Church it is characterized by working effectively.<\/span>
\n5. Church and Virtue:<\/span>
\n(A) Faith: strengthened it.<\/span>
\n(B)\u00a0Hope: be hopeful.<\/span>
\n(C) Love: serve each one, and its\u00a0heart is open for every human being.<\/span><\/h2>\n
