In this sermon, the Pope urges the entire church to pursue the life of repentance. He wonders: \u201cis there anyone who does not desire to be a companion of repentance, to refrain from evil issues that make hearts blind, incapable of observing the wondrous light?\u201d<\/span><\/h2>\nHe explained: \u201cRepentance allows man to stretch his wings as an eagle, flying upwards to heaven through its spiritual virtues.\u201d He asks those without repentance: \u201cUpon defending yourself, what would you say? You, who have borne the holy names given to the priests and monks, yet you despised the commandments of God?! There will curse you the sinners who incur the reprisal, telling you: \u201cwe had to but commit sins, because we indulged in the world lusts and pleasures, going astray due to the stumbles of our fleshly desires, while you, what are you doing here? Why do you suffer such endless pains? Aren\u2019t you the ones who wore the garments of godliness in the world?
