Syriac Catholic Patriarch of Antioch Ignatius Joseph III Younan , in a statement distributed by the Patriarchate Secretariat, denounced\u00a0the terrorist bombing that occurred in the city of Qamishli in Syria on Sunday afternoon after the inauguration of martyrs\u00a0monument of the Syriac “Sipho” genocide in a ceremony held\u00a0by the Patriarch of the Syriac Orthodox Church Ignatius Ephrem II.
\nPatriarch Younan denounced”this terrorist act which was planned\u00a0by\u00a0forces of darkness to sow strife and displace safe and innocent citizens ,” he thanked God for the safety of the Patriarch Ephrem II and members of the delegation accompanying him from bishops, clergy and worshipers\u00a0”
