The summary of the law\u00a0that regulate the construction and renovation of churches after the\u00a0three Egyptian churches representatives approved and signed\u00a0on the final draft\u00a0of the bill\u00a0that will be presented to the house of representative for voting.<\/span><\/h2>\n

Article 235 in the section\u00a0of general and transitional\u00a0provisions\u00a0of\u00a02014\u00a0constitution \u00abthe House of Representatives in the first convening session after working with the new constitution law to issue a law that\u00a0regulates the construction and renovation of churches in order to ensure that christian\u00a0exercise religious rites freely.<\/span><\/h2>\n

The final draft includes\u00a0eight articles that\u00a0begins with definitions of the church, the altar,\u00a0the community and the governor. <\/span><\/h2>\n

The second article of the law:\u00a0to\u00a0take into account that the Church that is\u00a0requested a license to be built\u00a0and its’\u00a0outbuilding\u00a0is to commensurate with the number and needs of the Christian citizens in the region that the church will be\u00a0built in, taking into account population growth rates. It is permissible that the church consists of\u00a0more than one of the following: altar,\u00a0tribune, nave, more than a bowl, baptism fount and minaret.<\/span><\/h2>\n

Article III of the law, the legal representative of the community to submit a request to the competent governor to get\u00a0a certificate that state that there is no problem to held the work that need\u00a0to be licensed.\u00a0Administrative direction has to give the request applicant a receipt that confirm that they received his request in that day. The request must be attached with property documents and necessary documents that show the nature, place and borderline of requested work, and all other documents that the housing minister will determine in a period of 60 days from \u00a0the date of this law.<\/span>\u00a0In all cases, request will not be accepted if the documents needed is not complete.<\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n

Article IV of the law confirm that the\u00a0legal representative of the community\u00a0can submit a request to the\u00a0governor for a certificate that there is no objection to demolish and rebuild a licensed church or a church \u00a0that it’s issue\u00a0 has been resolved in accordance with the provisions of this law, and that\u00a0by following the set procedures.\u00a0The law requires that the governor has to consider the request for construction, demolition\u00a0or\u00a0renovation of the church and respond within a period of four months.<\/span><\/h2>\n

The law states\u00a0that the competent governor to decide on the application referred to in Articles (3) and (4) of this act\u00a0 after coordinating with the concerned parties in a period not exceeding four months from the date of submission, and notify the applicant by a registered letter with acknowledgment of receipt the outcome of checking\u00a0the request.<\/span><\/h2>\n

In the case of rejection of the application the reason of rejection must be justified.<\/span><\/h2>\n

Article VII of the law states that doing any of the work being the subject of\u00a0the certificate referred to in Articles (3) and (4) of this Act, to be done after obtaining a license from the competent administrative authority of the planning and organization affairs \u00a0in accordance with the construction provisions promulgated by 119 Law for the year 2008 and its implementing regulations, not inconsistent with the provisions of this law.<\/span><\/h2>\n

The certificate of absence of objection to do the work\u00a0is consider\u00a0one of the document needed to extract the license, the license shall be issued on behalf of the religious community.<\/span><\/h2>\n

Article VIII confirmed that is licensed as a church every\u00a0building where christian rite and services are held at the time of working with this law, after the confirmation of structural safety of the building according to a report from a construction consultant engineer, and\u00a0the legal representative of the community to submit a\u00a0payroll of these buildings to the competent governor within six months from the date of this law.<\/span><\/h2>\n

It may not be allowed to prevent or stop the rituals and religious activities in any of the churches\u00a0or outbuilding mentioned for any reason.<\/span><\/h2>\n
