Attack on 3 houses of Copts in\u00a0“alDawar” village in\u00a0Beheira and police surround the village<\/span><\/h2>\n

Copts:\u00a0Attack was because of a Copt demanded\u00a0a person\u00a0for late pay and the other party responds “Honor crime”<\/span><\/h2>\n

On Wednesday evening, dozens of people attacked\u00a03 Coptic houses in alDawar village in Kafr El-Dawar, Beheira. They threw stones and Molotov cocktails, and destroyed the\u00a0windows of two houses, a library and a store before the security forces intervened\u00a0and surrounded Copts houses.<\/span><\/h2>\n

According to one of the attacked Copts story, the problem occurred after\u00a0his uncle, Awad Zaki, smith “Haddad”, 45, went to the house of Mohammed Sobhi to claim for late pay\u00a0of work he has done\u00a0for him\u00a0so a quarrel occurred and they dragged him inside the house\u00a0and accused him with honor crime.<\/span><\/h2>\n

He added that the police came and took his uncle and another member of his family, Anis Mansour and a person from the other party to the police station, and after the\u00a0police has gone, dozens of the people of the village gathered and threw stones\u00a0on 3 houses located in the street, and windows of\u00a0houses, library and a shop were razed, they also threw some Molotov cocktails on the rooftops of the Copts’ houses but were put out by the owners of the houses, before the police intervened quickly, dispersed the crowd and\u00a0cordoned the houses.<\/span><\/h2>\n

He pointed out that the village has a number of other houses of the Copts, but they attacked\u00a0only 3 houses located in this street, and inhabited by 10 families.<\/span><\/h2>\n

Church source pointed out that the people arrested\u00a0by the police will be presented to the prosecution tomorrow, and the destroyed the houses, library and shop were inspected, confirming the story mentioned above and\u00a0revealed the absence of any religious\u00a0chants while attacking the Copts houses, and stressed that this attack is\u00a0the first in the village.<\/span><\/h2>\n

We are awaiting that investigations clarify the reasons for\u00a0this acts of violence.<\/span><\/h2>\n
