Matta El Masken,\u00a0and took over the monastery in 2013 when late Anba Mikhael, Metropolitan of Assiut, expressed his desire to leave his position as the head of the monastery due to his age,93, and his health and secret ballot\u00a0took place and\u00a0the monks\u00a0of\u00a0St. Macarius (Abou Makar) monastery (100 monks) voted on Sunday, February 3, 2013 to elect\u00a0the Abbot of the monastery.<\/span><\/h2>\n<h2 dir=\"ltr\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-family: &quot;andale mono&quot;, times;\">Voting was taken in the presence of the secretary of Pope Tawadros,\u00a0Fr.
