On Thursday, November, 29, 2018, the Churches of Hadayek al Quba, Al Waili, Al Abassiya and Al Amiriyah held the Evening Prayers of receiving His Grace Bishop Mikhail, the new bishop of that area, at St. Virgin Mary\u2019s Church in Al Abbasiya al Sharqiyah.<\/span><\/h2>\n

His Grace Bishop Marcos, the former Bishop of the mentioned area, was also honored, as he is selected to be a Bishop of Damietta, Kafr al Sheikh and the head of St. Demiana\u2019s Monastery.<\/span><\/h2>\n

The celebration was attended by a body of the great father bishops, including: Bishop Daniel of Maadi and the Secretary of the Holy Synod, Bishop Rafael, the General Bishop of Central Cairo Churches, Bishop Ermia, the General Bishop, Bishop Botros, the General Bishop, Bishop Bigol, the Bishop and Head of Al Muharraq Monastery, Bishop Martiros, the General Bishop of Sharq al Sekka al Hadeed\u2019s Churches, Bishop Angelos, the Bishop of Northern Shoubra\u2019s Churches, Bishop Eclimandus, the General Bishop of Al Haggana, Almaza and Sharq Madinat Nasr\u2019s Churches, Bishop Hermina, the General Bishop of Ain Shams and Al Matariya\u2019s Churches, Bishop Salib of Mit Ghamr and Qadus, Bishop Timothawes of Zagazig and Minya al Qamh, Bishop Sawiris, the General Bishop of the New Monasteries\u2019 Affairs and a number of the monks of Al Muharraq Monastery, as well as the priests of Hadayek al Quba, Al Amiriyah and Al Abassiya\u2019s Churches.<\/span><\/h2>\n

Members of the Area Churches\u2019 Council also attended the celebration, in addition to Members of Parliament for Hadayek Al Quba, they are; MP Khaled Abdel Aziz Shaaban, MP Hussein Abu Gad, and MP Emad Gad.<\/span><\/h2>\n

The celebration began with the procession of receiving the bishops with the scout\u2019s march and flags, then the Deacons\u2019 Chorus welcomed them with tunes, His Grace Bishop Mikhail held the Evening prayer.<\/span><\/h2>\n

Afterwards, His Grace Bishop Marcos welcomed the new bishop and blessed the launching of the celebration, which included the display of a documentary film about the 4 year and a half service period of Bishop Marcos in the area, as well as the achievements of His Grace in the area churches.<\/span><\/h2>\n

An inductional documentary film of Bishop Mikhail was also displayed, then His Grace Bishop Daniel presented rose neckbands to Bishop Marcos and Bishop Mikhail. Bishop Rafael gave a word on behalf of His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, in which foreword he expressed thanks to Bishop Marcos for his service in the area as well as his achievements made along the past years, congratulated Bishop Mikhail for assuming the patronage of the area. Afterwards, His Grace identified the word \u2018bishop\u2019 and clarified his responsibilities towards his diocese.<\/span><\/h2>\n

One of the father priests gave a word on behalf of the area\u2019s priests, in which they welcomed the new bishop and expressed thanks to Bishop Marcos for his service period with them. Dr. George Fayek, a Member of the Council of St. Mary\u2019s Church in Al Abbasiya al Sharqiyah gave a word on behalf of the councils of the area\u2019s churches.<\/span><\/h2>\n

At the end of the celebration, His Grace Bishop Ermia presented a pastoral staff as a gift to His Grace Bishop Mikhail.

\n The father bishops and priests presented souvenirs to Bishop Mikhail and took memorial pictures with him.<\/span><\/h2>\n

His Grace Bishop Mikhail concluded the celebration with prayer, then he saluted the attendees and distributed souvenirs to them.<\/span><\/h2>\n

It is worth mentioning that His Holiness Pope Tawadros II ordained Father Boles al Muharraqi a General Bishop named Bishop Mikhail last Sunday, he also consecrated Bishop Marcos for the Diocese of Damietta and Kafr al Sheikh.<\/span><\/h2>\n
