In the presence of Bishop Ermia .. memorial ceremony for late Dr. Boutros Boutros-Ghali at the British university

On Sunday, March 27, 2016 a ceremonial was held at the British University  to pay tribute to the late Dr. Boutros Boutros-Ghali, at the ceremonial a documentary about him was screened, containing his career in diplomacy, and displayed commemorative pictures of him with a number of presidents, and his history in the United Nations.

The ceremony which was held at the headquarters of the British University in ElSherouk City,was attended by Mohamed Farid Khamis, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the British University, and Amr Moussa, former Secretary General of the Arab League, and Dr. Sayyid al-Badawi head of the Wafd Party, Dr. Mustafa Fiki first president of the British University, and Brigadier General Mohammad Samir spokesman of the Armed Forces, and the constellation  of religion, Intellect, politics and media men, and late Boutros Boutros-Ghaly wife and his family, also  Ambassador Mahmoud Karem, director of the Middle East Center University, and Dr. Nadia Zachary former Minister of scientific research, and Mervat Tallawy former President of the National Council for women participated in the celebration.

In his speech .. Bishop Ermia general Bishop and head of the Coptic Orthodox Cultural Center, said that the memorial is a great tribute to a man known him since he was young at the church, which was carrying his grandfather’s name, Boutros-Ghali , adding that he was proud of the work accomplished by Ghali for Egypt.

Bishop Ermia completed his speech, saying: “Fate decreed to be the secretary of Pope Shenouda III, I found humor and candor and patriotism between Ghali and Pope Shenouda, where Boutros was saying  to Pope I am older than you, as Ghali was born on November 14 and the pope was born on August 14, and the Pope response was you are older than me by ten months only Boutros.
