Rev. Raphael Moussa priest of St. George’s Church martyred in El-Arish
The Coptic Orthodox Church announced the martyrdom of Rev. Raphael Moussa priest of St. George Church in El-Arish as he was shot dead by gunmen, when he was on his way home after helding the mass prayer.
Rev. Paul Halim spokesman of the Coptic Orthodox Church said in an official statement: “A good father went to heaven, after being shot by terrorists while he was on his way home after the mass”
He added: “The Egyptian Coptic Orthodox Church, headed by Pope Tawadros II ask God that his soul rest in peace in heaven, and offer condolence to Anba Cosmas Bishop of North Sinai, the Diocese priests synod, his family and the people of his church, and condemns all acts of terrorism that threaten the safety of the nation and aimed at destroying the unity of its people.” .
The martyred father was ordained priest on March 3, 2012, by Bishop Cosmas of North Sinai with Pastor Mina Aboud, who was also killed by terrorism in July 2013
