Under the patronage of His Holiness Pope Tawadros II Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of St.Mark Episcopate. The Coptic Orthodox Cultural Center headed by His Grace Bishop Jeremiah with the participation of Mr. “Paolo Sabbatini” head of the Italian cultural institute in Cairo and Italian embassy cultural counselor organize an exhibition for the international Italian artist “Maurizio Meldolesi” in the period from February 8 to February 22, 2 016.
The exhibition opening began with HG Bishop Jeremiah Speech. He condoled the Italian government, people and family of Italian ideal student “Julio Reginni” who was killed in Egypt a few days ago. Than HG Bishop Jeremiah welcomed Mr. “Paolo Sabbatini” head of the Italian cultural institute in Cairo and Italian embassy cultural counselor and Dr. Nadia Zachary former Scientific Research minister who was keen to attend the exhibition opening. His Grace also expressed his happiness that the Coptic Orthodox Cultural Center hosts artist “Maurizio Meldolesi” exhibition who is one of the best fine art artists pointing that the COCC is concerned with various types of arts and cultures.
HG Bishop Jeremiah recounted Artist “Maurizio Meldolesi” Portfolio that consist of religious portraits and other portraits that had impressed People from different cultures.
From his side Mr. “Paolo Sabbatini” head of the Italian cultural institute in Cairo and Italian embassy cultural counselor thanked HG Bishop Jeremiah for hosting this exhibition and noted that this exhibition is the beginning of cooperation between the Coptic Orthodox Cultural Center and Italian Cultural Institute in Cairo.
Than Artist “Maurizio Meldolesi” expressed his gratitude to HG Bishop Jeremiah for this great reception and for the huge number of attendee stressing that this is the first time that he meet this huge number of attendee in one of his exhibitions that are held around the world stressing that this indicates Egyptian people enlightenment.
At the end of his speech “Maurizio Meldolesi” surprised the audience by saying that there is one of his portrait behind this curtain. And that he hope to have the honor to meet the one he draw in this portrait, than he unveiled the portrait and the surprise was that it was a portrait of HH Pope Tawadros II.
HG Bishop Jeremiah revealed that artist “Maurizio Meldolesi” draw this portrait perfectly without seeing HH Pope Tawadros II.
At the end of the exhibition opening HG Bishop Jeremiah granted Mr. “Paolo Sabbatini” head of the Italian cultural institute in Cairo and Italian embassy cultural counselor and Artist “Maurizio Meldolesi” COCC Shield.
