The Free Educational Scholarship 2019 – 2020

The Coptic Orthodox Cultural Center announces the opening of the annual free educational scholarships for the State of Hungary for the academic year 2019-2020 to obtain the Bachelor’s or Master’s degrees in more than 250 majors in cooperation with the State of Hungary in educational and cultural fields.

The registration for the scholarships will start from Sunday 3/3/2019 until Wednesday 13/3/2019

Required Documents:

1. Electronic application form (at the Coptic Orthodox Cultural Center).

2. A recent personal photo (taken maximum 6 months ago).

3. Motivation letter, which shall be:-

– At least one page written in Times New Roman font – font size (12).

– Written in the same language of the study desired (English, Hungarian or French).

– Indicating the reason of the registration for the chosen specialization, and how his study will contribute to a great benefit of the applicant’s homeland.

4. Containing a recommendation letter (from the Coptic Orthodox Cultural Center).

5. A certificate attesting to the proficiency of the English language (or the language to be studied in the scholarship) to the minimum required in the major applied for. It will be waived if the applicant completed his previous study in English (Or the language to be studied in the scholarship), a certified certificate of proof is provided.

6. Certificate of completion of the original study and another certificate translated in English if the original certificate is written in Arabic:

– Certificate of completion of General Secondary in case of applying for the Bachelor’s degree.

– Certificate of completion of university studies in case of applying for the Master’s degree.

7. Transcript of Records Certificate

A detailed certificate is provided with the subjects studied at the last educational level in English Language.

8. A health certificate of a date no later than 15 November 2018 stating that the applicant has no AIDS, hepatitis A, B, C or other infectious diseases.

9. A photocopy of the passport, if s passport is not found, a copy of the national ID is provided.

10. Statement of approval of the scholarship application (from the Coptic Orthodox Cultural Center).

For the art and music applicants:

1- In the field of arts:

In addition to the previous documents, pictures of three works of art or sketches are provided with the date of their creation.

2- In the field of music:

In addition to the previous documents, a soundtrack of three works with the date of creation is presented

Deferred documents:

1. Certificate of completion of General Secondary for the General Secondary students of the current academic year 2019.

2. Certificate of completion of university studies for the seniors of the academic year 2019.

3. A photocopy of the passport or national ID for those who have not them issued yet.

4. Certificate of English Language proficiency.

5. Medical certificate.

In the case of deferred documents, a signed undertaking is submitted by the applicant to submit these documents by 30/7/2019.

People who are not allowed to apply for the scholarship:

1) Individuals who have obtained temporary or permanent asylum or protection in the State of Hungary or are holders of the Hungarian nationality.

2) People studying at their own expense at the universities of Hungary during the scholarship period.

3) Holders of other educational scholarships in Hungary who have not completed their studies or have not started them.

Important Notes:

– Application is allowed at the Coptic Orthodox Cultural Center, St. Mark’s Cathedral in Abbasiya, on daily basis from 10 am to 7 pm except Fridays.

– The original documents shall be submitted on a CD and a hard copy shall be submitted.

– The applicant shall have an active email address (preferably a Gmail account) and an account on Skype.

– The applicant shall be at least 18 years old (Having a date of birth not later than 31/8/2001).

– Application shall be through booking a pre-appointment daily from 10am to 7pm – except Fridays.

The Scholarship Benefits:

– The study is free of charge. The student receives a monthly allowance of 119,000 Forints (380 Euros), in addition to securing accommodation or 40,000 Forints throughout the staying period. The scholarship includes health insurance of 65,000 Forint per annum per student, as well as a travel allowance of 200,000 Forints annually.

Required Documents:

3. A photocopy of the passport for those who have not it issued yet.

Important Notes:

– The deadline for application is Sunday, 18th of March 2018 at the Coptic Orthodox Cultural Center, St. Mark’s Cathedral, 222 Ramsees St. Abbasiya.

– The original documents shall be submitted on a CD and a hard copy shall be submitted.

– The applicant may apply for two majors of study.

– The applicant shall have an active email address (preferably a Gmail account).

– The applicant shall have an account on Skype.

– The applicant shall be no younger than 18 years old when beginning the study in Hungary in September 2018.

Free educational scholarship for 2017-2018

* Online Application in English or Hungarian shall be submitted through the Coptic Orthodox Cultural Center, Anba Rewis in Abbasiya.

(1) An online form

(3) A Letter of Interest explaining the major to be studied

(4) Certificate of English:

B-2 Intermediate according to Common European Framework Reference.

(a) TOEFL test score 90, on PBT score 550.

(b) Cambridge first certificate [B].

(c) IELTS score 5.0

* Required academic qualifications:

(A) General secondary certificate or equivalent (original certificate and its certified English translation).

(B) Certificate of studies for any post-school qualification (original certificates and its certified English translation).

(C) A copy of the Bachelor’s / Master’s degree (and its certified English translation).

(D) A photocopy of the passport.

(E) A recent medical certificate issued not later than 30 days prior to the submission, stating that the applicant health is free of the following:

– HEPATITIS (A – B – C)

– AIDS

– Or any other epidemic diseases

* Conditions of application for the students majoring in Art (Photography – Painting – Sculpture – Graphics)

In addition to the previous conditions, the following is required:

– 3 pieces of art / sketches (with a working date).

* Conditions of application for the musicians and composers:

In addition to the previous conditions, the following is required:

A – 3 Musical soundtracks (High Quality Recordings (DVD).

B – 3 Musical soundtracks of the conductors (High Quality Recordings DVD).

* For those interested in applying for the PhD:

In addition to the previous conditions, the following is required:

(A) Two pages of the research to be conducted (Detailed Research Plan).

(B) A photocopy of the Master’s degree + a certified translated certificate in English.

(C) Two recommendation letters from academic people who know the applicant for a PhD

* Study expenses and books shall be incurred by the Hungarian government.

* Free housing shall be allocated for students inside or outside the university premises; or thirty thousand Forints shall be paid monthly for each student.
