The Coptic Museum at Old Cairo, in collaboration with the Association for the Revival of the Egyptian National Heritage (NAHRA), organized a large celebration commemorating the Holy Family flight into Egypt, with the participation of His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and the Patriarch of the see of St. Mark, A number of members of the House of Representatives, ambassadors and public figures, in addition to the bishops and Metropolitans.
The ceremony was attended by their Eminences, Anba Daniel, Secretary of the Holy Synod, Anba Bishoy, Metropolitan of Kafr El Sheikh, Anba Julius, Bishop of Old Cairo, Anba Ermia, Bishop of the Coptic Orthodox Cultural Center, and Bishop Morkos of Shubra El Kheima.
The ceremony was also attended by the Minister of Antiquities, Khaled Anani, Minister of Tourism Rania Al-Mashat, Minister of Immigration Nabila Makram, Minister of Planning Hala Al-Saeed, Minister of Culture Inas Abdel-Dayem, and Governors of Cairo, Giza, Sohag and Assiut.
The ceremony began with the national anthem. Then Soft Forces Foundation presented a variety of songs followed by the ballet demonstrating the journey of the Holy Family to Egypt and a documentary film about the journey. Then came the speech of Mounir Ghabbour followed by the speech of Dr. Wassim Al Sisi, Minister of Antiquities, Dr. Rania Al Mashat, Minister of Tourism and Dr. Mostafa El-Feki, Director of Bibliotheca Alexandrina. The ceremony concluded with a speech by His Holiness the Pope and a song entitled bless my country.
