Two people were injured and the fire destroyed seven houses and a store, following the sectarian clashes that took place between the residents of a village belonging to abo Qurqas center in Minya, because of a romantic relationship between a Christian worker and a Muslim woman.
Karam village in abo Qurqas center in south of Minya , witnessed sectarian clashes , because of a romantic relationship between a Muslim housewife and a Coptic worker , where a number of Muslims gathered outside the house of the Coptic worker and set fire in his home, sparking the ire of Christians which led to the outbreak of fires in seven homes and a store for Muslims and Copts and the injury of two Copts.
Security sources confirmed, that fires were suppressed and the riots was put under control in the village, and five accused people were arrested from the two parties, and the police is searching for others.
Security forces imposed a security cordon around the village, in anticipation that clashes get renewed and a report was emancipated on the incident and the prosecutor was notified.
