The opening of Virgin Mary and St. Mina Church in Faqos after refurbishment

Virgin Mary and St. Mina Church (Diocese headquarter) is opened in Faqos after refurbishment by Anba Makkar, Bishop of Sharqia and Tenth of Ramadan City and by the honoring of Anba Tadros Bishop of Port Said and related areas.
It is worth mentioning that the church was owned by the Greek community, and was built in 1909, and after the departure of the Greek community from Sharqia the church was closed.
On November 14, 1976 The late Bishop Angelios was ordained as”the first bishop of the diocese of Sharqia, and in the same year the church was purchased for $ 50,000 pounds; after borrowing the money from the Endowment, and The late bishop reconstructed it.
HG Bishop Makkar completed the reconstruction, as he began refurbishing the church in 2013 while maintaining the Greek style and archaeological icons, and strengthened the foundations of the church to result this wonderful church; and HGopened the church in the first day of Virgin Mary renaissance with the participation of Bishop Tadros, Bishop of Port Said.
Mentioning that The late HG “Anba Angeles” and HG “Anba Tadros” were ordained in the same day.
