The 40th day commemoration Mass service of Triple Beatified Anba Fam, Bishop of Tema was held at the new cathedral in the Monastery of “Fr. Yassa Mikhael” in Umm Dumah, Tema on Tuesday morning.
The service was lead by HG Anba Lucas, Bishop of Abnoub, Al Fethah, and New Assiut, and the participation of HG Anba Bakhoum, Bishop of Sohag and the Pope Vicar of Tema, HG Anba Youannes, Bishop of Assiut, and HG Anba Ologius, Bishop and Abbot of the Monastery of St. Shenouda, The Archimandrite in Sohag.
Mass service was attended by priests, monks and deacons from different dioceses and monasteries, as well as about 3,000 person of the diocese congregation and loved ones of late father.
HG Aba Bakhoum delivered the sermon during which he focused on the blessed biography of Anba Fam.
The service was attended by the deputies Maj. Gen. Salah Shawki Aqeel and a number of public figures and businessmen.
The commemoration service is the first to be held at the new cathedral, which HG, late Anba Fam, builf at the Monastery of Fr. Yassa, where he loved to stay. During the last years, he sought to develop the Cathedral which became one of the most important Christian places visited during religious trips.
His Grace, late Anba Fam, departed on February 25 at a hospital in London. Born in February 1945, he worked as an engineer before becoming a monk, and was ordained as bishop in 1980.
