Foreword
The Coptic Orthodox Cultural Center’s “Research and the dissemination of Coptic Heritage Unit” published a research about “the status of St. John Chrysostom in the Coptic Orthodox Church” by the deceased Mr. Nabih Kamel.
St. John Chrysostom is considered one of the fathers who are called “the teachers of the world” and one of the most productive fathers.
The text in our hands was translated by Mr. Remon Youssef, the researcher at the Coptic Orthodox Cultural Center from the Greek text published in the “ΕΠΕ” collection, “The Fathers of the Church who wrote in Greek”, published in the Thessaloniki in 1973, Part 43. May the Lord compensate him with all good.
It is worth noting that St. John Chrysostom in this sermon does not tackle the events of the Holy Week, but he sees that praising God during this short period is the most important act which shows the greatness and power of prayer and praise. May the Lord reward him for his toil with all good.
May the Lord make this book a blessing for many, through the intercession of our mother St. Virgin Mary, St. Mark the Apostle and Evangelist, and through the prayers of our honorable father His Holiness Pope Shenouda III, may the Lord keep his life for several years and peaceful times. Amen
