On November 2, His Grace Bishop Ermia, Bishop and head of the Coptic Orthodox Cultural Center in Cairo, met with U.S. Deputy Secretary Michael Rigas to highlight the vital role of Coptic Christians in Egypt.
Their discussion focused on supporting shared values such as religious freedom and strengthening coordination among faith leaders to address challenges facing the community. Deputy Secretary Rigas also commended Egypt’s initiatives—such as the Egyptian Family House—that foster mutual understanding and harmony across communities.
The meeting reaffirmed the U.S. commitment to promoting religious freedom and ensuring a future where all faith communities can thrive.
