Minister of Tourism Yahya Rashed confirmed that the Egyptian delegation met Pope Francis following the homily delivered by His Holiness, in which Egypt was mentioned as the path of the Holy Family.
The Minister of Tourism, added in a phone call with “Hona el-Asema” program on CBC channel that he delivered Pope Francis a message from President Sisi, which His Holiness responded to it by sending all greetings, appreciation and affection to the President for their friendship ties and appreciation, adding that he sent a letter of love and affection and peace to the Prime Minister, Sheikh Al-Azhar and Pope Tawadros.
He pointed out that the ministry was working to develop this plan and determine the path of the holy family for more than 18 months, pointing out that what happened today is one of the best international events to promote tourism and a major shift of confidence in Egypt and in tourism, because invitation to tourism and the visit of the Holy Family path came from A great world icon.
He explained that the general form of tourism and economy in Egypt will witness a great change during the coming period thanks to the great call of Pope Francis for pilgrimage in Egypt.
He stressed that Pope Francis said to him in his speech: “We are all Egyptians.”
