On October 29, 2014 During His Holiness Pope Tawadros II Pope of Alexandria historic visit to Russia. HH Pope Tawadros II , and Patriarch Kirill, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia agreed in Moscow to deepen the relations between the Russian Orthodox Church and the Coptic Orthodox Church by forming a special committee to hold bilateral dialogue between the two churches.
After an initial working group in February 2015 in Cairo The two churches Holy Synod agreed to establish bilateral dialogue committee and appointed representatives. HG Bishop Serapion and Bishop Julius and the Rev. John Paul Abdel Sayed and the Rev. Boulos Halim and Dr. Isaac Abraham Ajban and Mrs. Barbara Soliman will represent the coptic church and Metropolitan Bishop Gennady Bishop of Kascalan at Kazakhstan and Alheiromonak Stephen (Ajumnov) and Rev. Victor Kolaja and Rev. Oleg Davidenkov and Mr. Sergey Alferov and Mr. Elijah Kashetsin will represent the Russian Orthodox Church.
