An informed source stated, that Anba Bola Bishop of Tanta and it’s subsidiaries, and head of the Seminary Council in Australia, during a meeting yesterday with Judge Magdi El-Agati, Minister of Legal Affairs and the House of Representatives, delivered the minister the general legal framework of personal status regulation of Copts.
The source added, in a statement on Wednesday: It is set to present the legal framework of Personal Status Law, to the Legal Committee of the Parliament to review it’s compatibility with the common law and write it’s legal notes.
He stressed that the Legal Committee of the Coptic Orthodox Church haven’t yet finished of the entire drafting of regulations, but they was keen on completing the legal notch, to submit it to the state, noting that it is scheduled to be approved by parliament at its next session based on the constitution.
