Patriarch Ibrahim Isaac Sidrak, Patriarch of Alexandria for Coptic Catholics, affirmed that Christians live in Egypt as their homeland, pointing out to the Italian agency “Sir” that Egypt is open to all and that Copts are not a minority.
“Christians in their homeland are Egyptians, we never felt we were foreigners in our country, we are Egyptian citizens, there are some difficulties but we are in our home” Sidrak told the Italian agency.
Patriarch Sidrak is now in Italy for an Aid to the Church in Need event in Rome.
