Qena Cultural Palace under the patronage of Major General Abdel Hamid El-Hagan, Governor of Qena, organized a major celebration entitled “In Love of Egypt: Citizenship and Peaceful Coexistence” at the Young Muslims Association in Qena.
Dr. Abbas Mansour, President of the South Valley University in Qena, stressed in his speech on the depth of the national unity of Egyptians and that there are no differences between them and all are joined by the spirit of love, and that we reject the misconceptions of small group of extremists as the majority are peaceful citizens, stressing on the importance of accepting others and communicating and understanding each other. The president of the university spoke about the importance of the role of the university and it’s contribution in every event and in any place because everyone belong to it and this is its role towards the society.
The celebration was attended by Anba Beyman, Bishop of Qus and Neqada, Fr. Amonios Habashi, rapporteur of the Coptic Orthodox Diocese of Qena, Sheikh Mohamed Qenawy, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Awqaf, Dr. Hisham Hilal, Head of the Young Muslims Association, Saad Farouk, Head of the Central Administration of South Upper Egypt Culture, Dr. Hussein Al-Baz, Undersecretary of the Social Solidarity Ministry in Qena, Dr. Hoda Al-Saadi Rapporteur of the National Council of Women in Qena, Mahmoud Abdel el-Wahab, Director General of Qena Culture and a large crowd of guests.
The Young Muslims Association shield was presented to Dr. Abbas Mansoor, the President of the University, Mr. Saad Farouk and Anba Beyman, Bishop of Qus and Naqada.
The celebration included a number of artistic parts that embodied the spirit of national unity, including tree of my mother .. In love with Egypt play, dances of the art team of Qena, Kinder Kids nursery, the Coptic Orthodox Association and the Directorate of Social Solidarity in addition to the exhibition of Fine Arts, which included distinctive paintings representing national unity.
