HH Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the see of St. Mark led a church delegation including Their Eminences Anba daniel, Bishop of Maadi and Secretary of the Holy Synod, Anba Ermia, General Bishop and Head of the Coptic Orthodox Cultural Center, Anba Morcos, Bishop of Shubra El-Kheima in addition to Fr. Sergius Sergius, secretary of the patriarchate, Fr. Angeleos Ishak secretary of HH the Pope, Fr. Boulos Halim, spokesperson of the Coptic church and also Mr. Gerges Saleh, Honorary General Secretary of Middle East churches to greet Muslims for the upcoming Eid Al-Adha in Al-Azhar’s Grand Imam Sheikh Ahmed El-Tayeb at his office in Cairo on Wednesday.
During the visit, His Holiness expressed his sincere wishes to the great Imam of health and wellness, and to all Egyptians for welfare and peace, adding that these holidays and events embody the spirit of love and coexistence inherent among the Egyptian society of Muslims and Christians..
El-Tayeb praised the special and unique ties between Muslims and Christians in Egypt.
