Beni Suef province, received on Wednesday, March 8, 2017, HH Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the see of Saint Mark. This visit is considered his first visit to the province as a Pope, where his holiness inspected St. Mary monastery in Bayad Al-Arab, Beni Suef.
His Holiness the Pope was welcomed by Eng. Sherif Habib governor of Beni Suef, Major General Adel Tunisi Assistant of Interior Minister and Security Director of Beni Suef, Colonel Mahmoud Bashir Military Adviser of the province, Sheikh Mohamed Nur, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Religious Endowments, members of the House of Representatives, a number of security and executive leaders, Muslim and Christian clerics, and a large number of people.
HH Pope Tawadros II declared his happiness to visit Beni Suef, after 15 years from his last visit.
