HH Pope Tawadros II held an expanded meeting to improve education in the Church

As part of the interest in perfecting the Church educational process… His Holiness Pope Tawadros II met with about forty people including archbishops, bishops, priests, monks and academics in an atmosphere of love and openness ..

His Holiness began the meeting by reading (1 John 5: 1-12), and delivered a speech about the broad outlines of the educational process of the Church, and four of the archbishops and bishops of the Church submitted 4 research papers on the same subject including: Anba Rafael – Anba Bishoy – Anba Thomas – Anba Serapion, then held extensive discussions , which took 4 hours and the meeting resulted in the formation of four committees to follow up the implementation of the recommendations:

1. Committee to discuss and listen to educational remarks raised recently
2. Committee to prepare theological terminology glossary in several languages ​​and provide succinct projects
3. Committee to make a draft of topics that constitute the pillars of the Coptic faith with full canon explanation
4. Committee to enclose and sanction educational centers in the church and organize it and manage it under the church umbrella.

The meeting ended by emphasizing that the church is the mother in the first place: love – guide – embraces – raise – teach – advises – assign – and we consider sources of education are three:
1. The Bible provides the proper text
2. The writings of the Fathers provide proper understanding
3. liturgies provide proper expression
