Recently issued: The Interpretation of the Book of Revelation book
By: Dr. Maurice Tawadros
The Book of Revelation is the Book of “heaven” in which St. John the Evangelist speaks about heaven and the throne of God, broaching some of the events the saint had seen on earth. This book is one of the Prophetic Books of the Holy Bible, it tackles future incidents and issues that God revealed to St. John, in order “to show His servants things which must shortly take place” (Revelation 1:1).
The Saint saw this revelation during being exiled at Patmos Island; “I, John, both your brother and companion in the tribulation and kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was on the island that is called Patmos for the word of God and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.” (Revelation 1:9)
This book is an interpretation to the Book of Revelation by Dr. Maurice Tawadros, Professor and Head of the Holy Bible Department at the Seminary College and Professor of Biblical Theology at the Institute of Coptic Studies. It was published in 1990, and we are republishing it for the benefit of many. As usual, he presented us the interpretation of the epistle in a deep yet simple way. I express my thanks to Prof. Dr. Maurice Tawadros for dedicating this precious interpretation to the Coptic Orthodox Cultural Center to be published.
I also express thanks to Mr. Hatem Refaat, the Arabic language Editor for the linguistic revision. May the Lord compensate all who exerted effort in publishing this valuable work, which we ask God to make a reason of blessing to all who read it; “Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near.” (Revelation 1:3), through the intercessions and prayers of St. Virgin Mary, the Theotokos, St. John the Evangelist, St. Mark the Apostle and Martyr, the Preacher of Egyptian homes, and through the prayers of His Holiness Great Pope Tawadros II, the Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the See of St. Mark.
