Lucinda – two years and seven months old – is the youngest of martyrs of St. Mark Church of Alexandria and the youngest Coptic martyr in all the terrorist incidents that targeted Copts in Egypt. Lucinda family consists of her Father Christian, her mother Randa, and her brother Stephen ( first priamary) and the family live in Moharam Beik in the center of Alexandria.
On Palm Sunday, Lucinda went with her mother to pray in St. Mark Church as her mother had an “appointment” near Elraml station, while “Stephen went with his father to pray in another church in Moharram Beik.
When the blast occurred, Lucinda and her mother were at the church door as they were laving and Lucinda was martyred while her mother was seriously injured. The mothewe was undergoing treatment at the Armed Forces Hospital in Mustafa Kamel and had recently been discharged from intensive care after having undergone two surgeries so far.
Fr. Roweis Morcos deputy of Alexandria Patriarchate cite that baby Lucinda four or five days ago went to her grandfather’s house and there was a small framed picture of Pope Kyrillos, the girl took the picture and embraced it and insisted to take it with her to her house.” Lucinda father said : That his daughter as if she was talking with Pope Kyrillosand and went to be buried near him in St. Mina monastery, as she was one of the seven martyrs who their funeral was held yesterday at the monastery and were buried in martyrs burial.
