The Council of Middle East Churches heads sent a condolences telegraph to HH Pope Twadros II for the victims of the armed attack on three vehicles carrying Copts in Minya governorate, in which 30 people were killed and injury of scores.
The Council said in a statement issued by its Secretary-General, Father Michel Gilakh, in the face of the repeated barbaric attacks on our children from the Coptic Church in Egypt, the heads of the Council of Middle East Churches and members of the Executive Committee declare their solidarity with the Coptic Church
We condemn this terrorist act, which coincides with the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan, and call for swift action to uncover the circumstances of the attack and to bring those who committed it to justice. It is not permissible to waste the blood of our Christians and we can not ignore killing innocent people and children. and we support Pope Tawadros in every step he takes.
