After the rise of the number of Christian girls kidnapped cases in the recent period, Church sources, appealed for the return of counseling and guidance sessions which give the girl a last chance to meet with her family and clergymen, to make sure of her will to convert to other religion.
The sources added that His Grace Anba Agathon, Bishop of Maghagha, asked Christian religious leaders, to rearrange counseling sessions, especially after rise of girls’ disappearance recently.
These demands came after the disappearance of Coptic girl Mirai Gerges, from Sohag, after Easter, and this was not the only case in recent period Coptic activists announced the disappearance of many others Coptic girls in mysterious circumstances in different places.
It is noteworthy that counseling sessions were held during Pope Shenouda III papacy, to resolve Copts disappearance cases, and to ensure their intention to convert their religion by meeting with their families and the Christian clergy, without practicing any kind of pressure or threats.
