Foreword
The Center had previously published an article for St. Ambrosius about the Nativity of Christ, and here we are learning again on the hands of this great scholar via his article in which he contemplates in the baptism of Our Lord Jesus Christ, attracting our minds and hearts toward repentance, as he says: “since Christ was washed for our sake – no- He rather washed us in His body, how much more shall we be wash our sins.”
He continued, explaining the mercy of our Lord “For He does not renounce His temple, but rather He wishes to strengthen every soul, shaping it for the sake of salvation, God loves His temple, let us love Him too for when we love Him, we will keep His commandments”.
He concluded his explanation of the manifestation of the Holy Trinity in the baptism of our Lord Jesus Christ, refuting the Arian interpretation.
From its English source, this sermon was translated by Mr. Ashraf Marzoq and revised by Mr. Remon Rizq, both are researchers at the Coptic Orthodox Cultural Center.
In this feast, let our spirits rejoice at the Father who uttered, the Son who obeyed and the Spirit who manifested. May our minds be enlightened with the teachings of our fathers, through the prayers of His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, all glory and honor be to the Holy Trinity. Amen
