In the previous article, “A new Victory”, we spoke of the importance of overcoming the difficulties and crises of our present time through the collaboration of all Egyptians toward one goal challenging any attempt to sow the seeds of despair in our hearts. We mentioned the example of the fake propaganda that the enemy used to falter our soldiers.
The ferocity of their attack increased day by day so much that during October War Israeli soldiers threw leaflets out of their planes that contained two pictures, the first one depicted an Egyptian soldier carrying his dead friend while his family is crying bitterly. The second depicted a soldier’s joyfully return to his family. They attached a written document to the photo saying, ” It is your choice, you either go back to your family like this man (an arrow referring to the dead soldier) or that one (an arrow referring to the soldier that stayed alive). Leave your weapon and head to the west toward the Suez Canal”. However, all that words of despair didn’t manage to instill fear inside the hearts of our soldiers, but they rather were bent on consecrating their heart and time to achieve victory. Their heroic deeds quashed the enemy’s convictions that their leaders realized that themselves saying,
“The war has shown that we were no stronger than the Egyptians. The halo of supremacy and the political and military premise that Israel is stronger than the Arabs, that they would be defeated should they dare to start a war, did not hold true.”.It is also said that “One of the most significant results of October 1973 War was that it put an end to the myth of an invincible Israel and its progressive supremacy over the Arabs.” This was the great achievement of Egyptians in wartime. They collaborated together and kept working on achieving one goal for many years till they achieved it to the amazement of the whole world. Today, we can achieve victory keeping any depressing words behind us and faltering any attempt to make us faint-hearted.
Seeking to reach the goal
It is so great that we try to collaborate and not to give up, however we should take quick steps toward our goal “Building Egypt’s Future”. A goal that is not sought is a dream that you will get over soon to discover that you didn’t make any progress whatsoever. However, you may be missing out many chances that you couldn’t seize while people around are taking quick steps toward success…to be continued…
