King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz International Center For Interreligious And Intercultural Dialogue “KAICID” announced that HG Bishop Rafael, Secretary of the Holy Synod will represent HH Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the see of St. Mark at the International Peace and Interreligious Conference, which will kick off in Vienna on Monday.
The media advisor of the center, Sheikh Mostafa Al-Riyalat, said that the health conditions of Pope Tawadros prevented him from participating in the international conference, which will discuss a new action plan that will bring together Islamic and Christian leaders in the Arab world to spread enlightened religious discourse, fight extremism and deepen the values of acceptance of the other and coexistence.
The conference, which begins on Monday, will bring together patriarchs and bishops along with Islamic religion clercs, led by the Mufti of Egypt, Dr. Shawki Allam.
Also present from Egypt Dr. Andre Zaki, head of the Evangelical community, and Samira Luka, director of the dialogue and citizenship program and a number of media professionals.
