Dr. Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa Minister of Awqaf said that addressing radical and militant views is not only the responsibility of Al-Azhar institution but also the Egyptian Church have an active role in it, pointing out that facing of extremist ideology can only be achieved by rectifying ideas and views, in addition of facing terrorism in a wider scope than the religious level, that include several institutions beyond Al-Azhar, Awqaf and the church including the Ministries of Education, Interior, communications, information technology and culture.
This came during an important workshop discussing countering terrorism and confront extremists ideas, held within the second day of the national youth conference in the presence of Osama al-Azhari, a professor at Al Azhar University, Dr. Gaber Gad Nassar, president of Cairo University, and Mona Zulfakar human rights and legal expert.
