The first international conference for the community service and environmental development sector of Ain Shams University, the third conference of Ain Shams University, Egyptian Family House and the Coptic Orthodox Cultural Center was concluded on Thursday 4th May 2017.
The Conference entitled “pluralism and peaceful coexistence” was held in the period from May 2 to May 4, under the auspices of Dr. Abdel-Wahab Ezzat President of Ain Shams University, Anba Ermia General Bishop and head of the Coptic Orthodox Cultural Center, Prof. Nazmi Abdul Hamid, Vice President of the university for Community Services and Environmental Development, and Prof. Fathi Al-Sharqawi, Vice President of the university for Education and Student Affairs.
The conference concluded by agreeing a set of recommendations, most important recommendations are the need of the community to unite and bond as one man to resist the destructive and abhorrent ideas and actions targeting the unity of the country, the participants confirmed their strong rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism targeting the armed forces, Policemen and worship places.
The recommendations also included the necessity to activate the role of educational institutions in all stages of education, research institutions, and civil society institutions to instill and consolidate the foundations of peaceful coexistence, the need to filter education curricula in all levels of education from all contradicts to peaceful coexistence, to preserve the diverse cultural and civilization inheritance of the people of the nation, the rejection and exclusion of everything that would call to the fragmentation of society and refuse of other, mutual respect between religious beliefs and refuse to abuse other, appealing to the Supreme media Council to instill and consolidate valuable Peaceful coexistence among Egyptians, the rule of law and prompt justice are the safety valve for our redeem from destructive ideas, blind extremism and black terrorism, cooperation with the League of Arab States, national and Arab institutions for the dissemination of peaceful coexistence in Egypt experience in the rest of the Arab countries .
The participants also agreed to inevitably activate these recommendations practically and submit them to officials in the country to take measures to move them from theoretical to practical actions, as well as to the convening of the conference every year on the local level and every two years on the international level.
