The Patriarch of the Coptic Catholic Church, Isaac Ibrahim, received the delegation of the Eastern Apostolic Churches Bishops Council of Australia and New Zealand at the headquarter of the Catholic Patriarchate and Ecclesiastical in Maadi. The meeting discussed how to confront the challenges of terrorism and how to overcome the barriers of fear and establish the foundations for a strong and lasting civil peace.
“Christians in Egypt pray for their oppressors, as their teacher Jesus Christ has asked them, to bless them instead of cursing them, not to hate them but to forgive them, and they are faithful to Christ despite the threats to kill them” he said. Terrorism condense his war against Egypt and unity will remain on the lookout”
The delegation urged the Australian government to raise its voice through the effectiveness of its role in international forums to stop the spread of terrorism in Egypt and the world and to unite efforts to change Egypt’s future towards security and stability, to change the self-imposed mentality, and to find the points of convergence between the other and accept whatever is different, because the difference does not mean disagreement, but is a rich diversity of Egypt and the world.
