Chancellor Naguib Gabriel, head of the Egyptian Union of Human Rights Organization, said that contempt of religion law is incompatible with the Constitution, and it opens the door for malicious lawsuits, extremism and religious intolerance.
He said in a statement on Sunday, since the implementation of the law from more than 34 years, no one who contempt the christian religion was punished except Abu Islam.
He continued, I made 12 complaints against Christianity abusers and and against who described the Bible as distorted, and described the Christians as infidels and permit their blood and their money, and no one was brought to trial.
Gabriel numbered the Christians accused in contempt of religion incidents and were punished and they are as follows:
1. Five children in Bani Mazar, when they made fun of ISIS terrorist group after the group slaughtered of 21 Copts in Libya. 2. The three young Christians imprisoned in Alexandria for distributing dates on their fellow Muslims in Ramadan for Iftar. 3. A young Copt imprisoned for distributing Bible copies in a mall at 6 October. 4. Teacher Makarem Diab imprisoned for six years for contempt of the Islamic religion. 5. Young Coptic Ayman Mansour imprisoned in Alazbakia for contempt of the Islamic religion. 6. Teacher Bishoy Camille imprisoned in Assiut for contempt of the Islamic religion. 7. Teacher Demiana fined 30,000 pounds for contempt of the Islamic religion. 9. Headmistress Mervat Seven was prevented from doing her job in Bani Mazar because the students objected that she is Christian and cannot be a school principal. 10. Extremist fought the restoration of Our Lady Church at El-Galaa village in Samalount,Minya and put terms including do not place a cross or have a Dome on the church and to have a side door and Minya former governor brigade / Salah zyada obeyed them. 11. Last year a church in Maghagha was attacked during the Holy Week, and religious images were removed and thrown out. 12. The displacement of a number of Coptic families in Minya after a brawl resulted the death of a Muslim. 13. The displacement of a number of Coptic families in Al-Nahda village in Al-Ameria, Alexandria for scuffles between some Christians and Muslims. 14 – An entire Coptic family was displaced from one of Mit Ghamr villages in AlDakahlya governorate for the same reason. 15. Two Coptic families were displaced in Beni Suef because of an emotional relationship between a young Christian and a Muslim girl.
