Today, Tuesday, January 9, 2017 the Egyptian Family House, launches its first conference entitled “Together against Terrorism”, in the presence of a group of specialists in “Religious, Intellectual, Cultural, Security and Educational Affairs”.
The conference will be launched by the Grand Imam of al-Azhar Sheikh Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayeb, His Holiness Pope Tawadros II Pope of Alexandria and the Patriarch of the see of St. Mark and Dr. Samir Ghattas, Deputy Speaker of the Middle East Forum for Strategic Studies.
The conference will be chaired by Dr. Mahmoud Hamdy Zaqzouq, former minister of Awqaf and consist of three sessions, to discuss a number of important topics.
The first session entitled “Terrorism: Phenomenon and Motivation” will be chaired by Dr. Mohamed Abu Zaid, the General Coordinator and Rapporteur of the Egyptian Family House , with the participation of Maj. Gen. Ahmed Gad Mansour, former Assistant Minister of Interior, Sheikh Ali Gomaa, former Grand Mufti of Egypt and member of the Senior Scholars Council, Dr. Mustafa Al-Fekki, Director of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, Dr. Abdulwahab Ezzat, President of Ain Shams University, Major General Abdulhamid Khairat, former head of the State Security Service, Mr. Tharwat Al Kharbawi, lawyer and expert on Islamist groups and Brigadier General Khaled Okasha, member of the Supreme Council for Combating Terrorism.
The second session entitled “Power of the Community in the face of terrorism” will be chaired by His Eminence Bishop Ermia, General Bishop and the Assistant Secretary and Rapporteur of the Egyptian Family House, Dr. Tariq Mansour, member and coordinator of the Egyptian Family House in Ain Shams University, and the participation of Sheikh Dr. Nasr Farid Wasel, former Grand Mufti of Egypt and member of the Senior Scholars Council, Dr. Moheb Al – Rafei, former Minister of Education, Dr. Gaber Nasar, former President of Cairo University, Dr. Seddiq Afifi, President of Nahda University and Taiba Academy, Major General Ahmed Gad Mansour, Assistant Minister of Interior and former President of the Police Academy, TV presenter Gamal elShaer member of the National Media Committee, and Dr. Heba Shahin member of the Information Committee of the Egyptian Family House.
The Third and last session is entitled “The Egyptian Family House in the Face of Terrorism”, chaired by Dr. Mohammed Hussein Al-Harasawi, President of Al-Azhar University, Dr. Rafiq Gerish, Rapporteur of Information Committee of the Egyptian Family House. and the participation of Dr. Gerges Saleh, , Coordinator of the Egyptian Family House, Dr. Tarek Mansour, member of the Follow-up Committee and Coordinator of the Egyptian Family House in Ain Shams University, Dr. Rasmi Abdelmalek, Rapporteur of the Education Committee of the Egyptian Family House, Radio personality Sherif Abdel Wahab, Head of the Egyptian Cultural Network, Dr. Mossaad Aweis, Rapporteur of the Youth Committee of the Egyptian Family House, Dr. Ahmed Raja Ragab, Rapporteur of the Family Culture Committee of the Egyptian family.
The conference comes amid the country challenges to confront the brutal terrorism, which is always trying to stir up strife between people during religious feasts, the «House of the Egyptian family» has an awareness role of using soft power in the fight against terrorism by holding a number of conferences to confront extremism and terrorism by spreading moderate Thought.
