Third conference of training 1000 ecclesial teacher project of HH Pope Tawadros II began on Friday afternoon, in Mary Land house in ElSherouk with the participation of nine diocese along with the churches of Alexandria.
HG Bishop Raphael General Bishop of downtown Cairo Churches and secretary of the Holy Synod delivered his lecture: “ecclesial unity.” The delegations of the nine dioceses had flowed into the project headquarters from this morning including delegations from the dioceses of Port Said, Menoufiya, Fayoum,Banha and Quesna, Beni Suef, Mansoura, Zagazig, Minya, Sharkia, Tenth of Ramadan, Damietta, Kafr El-Sheikh, then finally the churches of Alexandria delegation. This training project third phase is due to continue til next Sunday. The project named “Living heritage of our church .. spirit and life” under the slogan: “Renew our days as of old”, this slogan chosen by HH Pope Tawadros II for the project This project is targeting the training of 1,000 people working in the pastoral field, especially teachers – spreading ecclesial spirit in church education more deeply. The Pope had met “1000 church teacher” trainee last Monday in Saint-Royce theater in St. Mark cathedral. The project lectures are delivered by their Eminence Metropolitan Bishoy of Damietta and Kafr El-Sheikh, Bishop Benjamin of Monoufia, Bishop Raphael General Bishop of downtown Cairo Churches and secretary of the Holy Synod, Bishop Thomas of Quseya and Mir, Bishop Makarios General Bishop of Minya and Abo Qorkas, Bishop Daniel Bishop and abbot of Saint Paul monastery in Red Sea and Bishop Zosima of Atfeeh. The program also includes five training workshops contain sources of ecclesial Education: the Bible, the liturgy, the Fathers, ecclesiastical history, Coptic identity. It is expected that the project activities will continue until the 4th October, where they are training for the 1000 participants after dividing them into five groups, each group rehearses for four full days.
