Eng. Yasser El-Desouki, Governor of Assiut, accompanied by Ambassador Bruno Musarò, Ambassador of the Vatican State in Cairo, and Anba Ibrahim Isaac, Patriarch of the Catholic Copts, inaugurated and opened a shrine of the Holy Family path in the monastery of Dronka, One of the most important points of the journey of the Holy Family.
The inauguration was attended by Brig. Gen. Tawfiq Khalid Said, Commander of the Southern Military Region, Maj. Gen. Gamal Shokr, Assiut Security Director, Dr. Ahmed Abdu Geiis, President of Assiut University, Brigadier General Hatem Riad, Inspector of National Security Investigations in the province, Anba Kyrillos, Archbishop of the Catholic Copts in Assiut, Dr. Abdel Nasser Nessim, Ministry of Awqaf representative, Dr. Elizabeth Shaker and Tadros Qaldas, members of the House of Representatives, Sheikh Sayed Abdel Aziz, Secretary General of the Egyptian Family House in Assiut, Dr. Ahmed Awad, Director General of antiquities in Assiut, Father Kamal Labib, Regional Minister of Franciscan Fathers in Egypt, Eng. Nabil el-Tibi, President of Assiut City, As well as Adel al-Gendi, coordinator of the holy family’s journey at the Ministry of Tourism, Othman al-Husseini, director of the Regional Authority for the Promotion of Tourism, and a number of priests, bishops, parents and residents of Dronka monastery.
During the ceremony, a documentary film about the development of the shrine and the path of the holy family was presented, in addition to some artistic and lyrical shows of some of the youth of the church and symbolic gifts were presented to the audience.
