HG Anba Bakhoum, Bishop of Sohag Bishop of Sohag, Monshaa and Maragha led the funeral service of Fr. Athanasius Gamal Pastor of Sts. Bakhoum and his sister Dalousham monastery that was held at 1:00 pm at Sts. Peter and Paul church in Akhmim in the Diocese.
HG Anba Besada missed the funeral due to his travel abroad.
The funeral was attended by the priests of Akhmim and Sakalta; a number of priests of Sohag diocese; and the monks of the monasteries of the eastern and western mountains of Sohag.
The late father car fell in an aqueduct as he was heading to pray the mass service at the monastery where he served. He was born on July 23, 1986, “32” in Sohag. He was ordained priest two and a half years ago, on November 16, 2015.
