HH Pope Tawadros II, Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the see of St. Mark, paid tribute to late Writer Louis Greiss in a statement saying: “He enriched the Arab culture with fine literature and was a window of creativity in everything he wrote and in everything he said.”
“He was a distinguished journalist with his writings and his management in all the posts he took and worked with honesty and devotion to his country, literature, culture and enlightenment” His Holiness the Pope added “He was also a unique model with his late wife Sanaa Gamil, who departed from about 15 years, But he continued lamenting and remembering her with the deepest sense of fulfillment as if she did not left our world.
His Holiness continued: “We mention this talented writer and how he bore the Cross of illness for a long time and God has given him a blessed life, and here he departs, leaving us a rich literary and cultural legacy for future generations. We bid him farewell, asking for heavenly condolences to his blessed family, all his loved ones and his students and those who benefited from his knowledge and literature”.
