First church belonging to the Coptic Orthodox Church of Alexandria had been opened in Japan and named Blessed Virgin Mary and St Mark church.
The opening and prayers of first Mass divine was headed by His Eminence Anba Daniel Bishop of Sydney and related areas, and with the participation of the Rev. Joshua Tadros and Father Tadros Samaan, and the presence of a large number of deacons, Egyptian, Ethiopians, Eritreans and Japanese worshipers, delegates of priests and servants of other Christian churches , professors and students from the Coptic Studies Department in the University.
Two children named (Mary and Mark)were also baptized , and the opening ceremony ended by receiving the keys and legal papers of the church from the owner.
