Police forces surrounded Saft El-Laban village in the center of Minya, after two secondary level students were wounded, in a brawl between residents late on Monday evening. Major General Faisal Dewidar police chief of Minya, received a notice from Maj. Gen. Mahmoud Afifi, Criminal Investigations Director, that Labib Sami, 17, and Roman Atef, 17, secondary stage student residing in Saft El-Laban village, were injured and rushed to Minya general hospital, suffering from deterministic wound in the head, face and nose bleeding.
Witnesses from the village said, events date back to the day before yesterday after scuffles broke out between Muslims and Copts students from Saft El-Laban village, then the two parties reconciled, but a number of students clashed with the above mentioned students during their way back from a tutorial on Monday evening, and injured them with the aforementioned injuries. Victims and their families accused a teacher and number of students of attacking them.
A number of security leaders went to the village that has been cordoned , in anticipation of the renewal of clashes.
The incident have been reported and will be submitted to the public prosecution.
