In an atmosphere filled with spiritual joy and ecclesiastical love, the Coptic Orthodox Church celebrated the golden jubilee of the monastic life of His Grace Bishop Moussa, Bishop of Youth, as well as the 46th anniversary of his consecration as a general bishop for youth. The celebration took place on the evening of Friday, May 22, 2026, at the Monastery of Saint Phoebe in El-Obour, in the presence of a large number of bishops, priests, servants, and young people.
The celebration was attended by His Grace Bishop Ermia, the General Bishop and head of the Coptic Orthodox Cultural Center, who delivered a moving speech expressing his great appreciation for the journey of Bishop Moussa, affirming that his long-standing ministry represents a living model of fatherly giving in caring for young people and building spiritually and intellectually strong generations within the Church.
This celebration represented a distinctive ecclesiastical occasion to express gratitude and appreciation for a long journey of service and dedication offered by Bishop Moussa over decades in youth ministry and in building their spiritual and intellectual lives, as his name has been closely associated with serving new generations within the Coptic Orthodox Church.
The celebration included many spiritual segments and heartfelt speeches that expressed everyone’s love for His Grace, as several esteemed bishops and priests delivered remarks, including His Graces (Bishop Rafael, Bishop Paula, Bishop Tadros, Bishop Pimen, Bishop Ermia, Bishop Antony, and Bishop Michael).
Several priests also participated in the speeches, including Father Athanasius Kamel and Father Theophilus the Syrian, all of whom emphasized the pioneering role of Bishop Moussa in serving youth, guiding them spiritually and intellectually, and building an aware generation firmly rooted in the church faith.
Church choirs also participated with several hymns and spiritual segments, including the “Maran Atha” team and the “Kithara Kids” team, which added an atmosphere of praise and joy to the celebration. A documentary film titled “Words from the Heart” was also presented, highlighting his journey of service and dedication.
The youth also presented a gift to Bishop Moussa, expressing their love and appreciation for his blessed service, and their gratitude for his care and attention toward the younger generations within the Church.
