An official source of Police Information Center at the Interior Ministry said that in view of Police monitoring of concerns about the signs on houses of some Copts in Rod el Farag area in Cairo and the rumors that it is extremists and terrorists organization signs that target Christians.
The Minister of Interior initiated the formation of a high-level research team from the National Security, Public Security and the Cairo Security Directorate” sectors to uncover the circumstances of the incident and to apprehend the perpetrators.
The efforts of the research team resulted the identification and arrest of promoters of these signs. It turned out that they were a group of young people who formed a band. They printed their “logo” on some houses and walls in Rod al-Faraj area. They do “singing, acrobatics, magic” work. Investigations have confirmed that they have no links to any extremist organizations and frequent allegations in this regard. Legal proceedings have been taken and submitted to the Public Prosecutor’s Office for investigations.
