On the assumption of the Body of the Pure Virgin St. Mary feast occasion, coinciding with His Holiness Pope Tawadros II of Alexandria Pope of Alexandria and Patriarch of the see of Saint Mark monasticism 28th anniversary, His Holiness accompanied by Bishop Ermia, General Bishop and head of the Coptic Orthodox Cultural Center opened, on Monday August 22 2016, Blessed Virgin Mary and the Holy Family Icons Gallery of artist Eng. Emad Nasri, in the Patriarchal Museum of the Coptic Orthodox cultural Center.
The Opening was attended by ambassadors of several countries, including Ambassador of Vatican City State, a representative from the European Union and Spain, along with Counselor Khalid ElQadi Advisor of the Culture Minister, Father Peter Daniel, president of the Catholic Cultural Center, Dr. Gerges Saleh Honorary Secretary General of the Middle East Churches Council, and the opening was also attended by a number of public figures, artists and intellectuals.
The Gallery includes more than 50 icons of the oldest and most rare archaeological icons of the Virgin Mary from all parts of Egypt.
