Foreword
His Holiness Pope Shenouda III, the Teacher Pope, had allocated 293 articles to Al Ahram Newspaper, starting from 29th of July 2006 with an article titled “The Life of Faith” and ending with article “The Limitless God” published on 19th of February 2012.
His Holiness’ articles, which were published each Sunday in Al Ahram Newspaper, were of various spiritual and social subjects. His articles were distant from Christian religious affairs, his messages were directed to all doctrines and all people whether they are Muslims or Christians. Al Ahram recorded the highest number of comments received on the articles of Pope Shenouda, and His Holiness used to follow the comments himself.
His Holiness used to write the articles of Al Ahram himself, even in his illness periods, he used to write the title himself, and then dictate the article to me, a weak person. Some articles were collected into parts, like “The Heart and its Importance”; parts 1 and 2, “Do not attain your Comfort over Others’ toil” Parts A and B and others.
Wonderfully, His Holiness’ articles are fitting for all times, reading them repeatedly gives a better deeper understanding for our life; our faith, joy, fasting, patience, love, strength, weakness and freedom. We introduce these golden articles to be a bright lamp for our country’s sons, guiding the footsteps of all to live in peace and love.
I’d like to express thanks all who toiled in collecting this book, especially Pope Shenouda’s Center for Planning and Information Technology of the Coptic Orthodox Church.
Also, I express thanks to Journalist Ashraf Sadek who acted as the link between His Holiness the Pope and Al Ahram Newspaper. The books and teachings of His Holiness Pope Shenouda will ever be kept in our hearts and minds throughout generations and days. May the Lord make this book a blessing for many.
