The American Ambassador to Cairo, Hero Mustafa Ragh, held the American Independence Day celebration at the U.S. Embassy in Garden City on the evening of Wednesday, September 24, 2025, commemorating the postponed event from last July.
The celebration was attended by Their Graces: Anba Ermia, General Bishop and President of the Coptic Orthodox Cultural Center; Anba Makarios, Bishop of Minya and its dependencies; and Anba Aklimandos, General Bishop of the Almazah, City of Hope, and East Nasr City churches, alongside numerous ministers, ambassadors, artists, and public figures.
The event began with the national anthem and the republic salute of the Arab Republic of Egypt, followed by those of the United States of America. This was succeeded by parts of an Egyptian and an American song during the speech of Ambassador Hero Mustafa Ragh, in which she highlighted the achievements accomplished by the United States in cooperation with Egypt across various economic, social, cultural, and political fields, as well as the expansion of trade exchange between the two countries. The ambassador also expressed her gratitude to all attendees for their participation in the event.
