The Civil Protection Forces were able to control a fire in a tent erected inside the Holy Family Church of Franciscans “enclosure”, next to the Franciscan school in Luxor.
The governor of Luxor, Mohamed Badr, and Major General Mustafa Salah Eddin, the director of the security of Luxor, who was present in the vicinity of the church during the fire, went to the scene of the fire which was controlled and the Christmas prayer continued.
A security source confirmed that the fire caught in one of the edges of the 30 meters tent “Christmas manger” made of plastic materials , and placed on an iron columns inside the church “enclosure”, the fire was extincted by Firemen in Minutes as the fire truck was centered in front of the church as a protection procedure of Copts feasts, pointing out that the preliminary investigations indicate that the reasons for the fire may be due to a short circuit, stressing on the absence of casualties or minor losses.
